With lyrics by Laurence French, this was the first song we wrote together in recent years, i.e. not counting some embarrassing attempts many, many years ago! The lyrics were inspired by a TV documentary detailing the appalling treatment meted out to the North American Indians by the US government in the late 19th century.  The sentiments are as true today as they were when we first recorded this about ten years ago, and I think the brass and chunky guitars support the frustrations being expressed.

I recently transferred the original tracks from my old ADAT digital tape machines into Sonar recording software, where I added some small extra percussion touches, re-arranged some parts and re-mixed the whole thing so it sounds a lot better now than when we originally recorded it.

In a way it's a companion song to C.3.3. (see Song List) and someone did suggest to me that the two songs could provide a good starting point for a 'mini musical'! That struck me as a quite a good idea, although I don't know if Laurie and I have the stamina and spark to make that happen. Who knows, it's an idea I'm still playing with, so watch this space!
